What You Need to Know About Buying Beef Direct

Uncategorized

Who doesn’t want great-quality beef that is born, raised, and finished right here in Nebraska—the Beef Capital of the World?

But do you really know what you’re ordering when you simply click a box and have something delivered to your door? How can you be sure it’s what it claims to be? Where was the beef processed? Was water pumped into the steaks to make them appear larger? (Ever notice how some shrink significantly when you grill them?) Who’s pictures of that beef is it anyway?

How old is the beef you’re eating? What breed is it? There’s a big difference between high-quality Angus beef and a Jersey steer. Is it grass-fed or grain-fed? And what does “grass-fed” even mean?

When buying beef for your family, it’s important to ask the right questions before you simply click and order. Beef is an investment, and you should know exactly what you’re paying for. I don’t mind paying a higher price for a quality product—but I sure don’t want to pay top dollar for something that falls short of my expectations.

In the next few days, we’ll be posting daily tips on what to look for when ordering direct market beef. Stay tuned for expert advice on how to select the best beef for your family and ensure you’re getting the highest quality products possible!
